Seasoned Technology Industry Veteran Brings Wealth of Past Success Growing Small Companies
Jersey City, NJ May 16, 2006 Xceedium, a company that provides centralized, secure IT operations management, announced today that it has appointed Cheryl Traverse president/ chief executive officer. Under Traverse's direction, Xceedium will be led by one of the nation's pre-eminent technology startup executives one who has grown five companies spanning a variety of market sectors to successful exits over the past 12 years. Traverse will oversee all aspects of the company, which provides a centralized service-oriented framework that delivers vendor access control and secure, touch-free support for IT professionals across geographically distributed data centers and branch offices.
Prior to Xceedium, Traverse served as the president, CEO and chairman of the board Immunix, a Linux application security provider that was bought by Novell. At Immunix, Traverse repositioned the company, created successful sales traction with OEM and enterprise customers. Traverse leveraged this formula for success as president/CEO of mobile middleware manufacturer, Covigo which preceded Immunix, and was acquired by Symbol Technologies. Before joining Covigo, Traverse held the same position at Taviz Technology where she helped the company distinguish itself from numerous competitors in a crowded integration market.
Other successful ventures include personalization and merchandising application vendor brightinfo.com where, as president/CEO she led the company to an acquisition by Annuncio Software/PeopleSoft and as EVP of iBand, the company was acquired by Macromedia. Traverse also has a track record of building large revenue responsibilities for Gupta, Sprint, MCI and Warner Amex Cable.
"Xceedium is at a major advantage with Cheryl's unparalleled leadership skills," said Morgan Rodd, managing partner, ArrowPath Venture Partners and member of Xceedium's board of directors. "Investors always want a proven commodity at the top of a portfolio company, so it is a huge coup for Xceedium to have someone like Cheryl who not only brings significant experience but a tremendous track record of success as well."
In addition to her corporate success, Traverse is an active supporter of the women's business community. She serves on the advisory boards of the Women's Technology Cluster and Forum for Women Entrepreneurs earning the TrailBlazer Award in 2002 and the LodeStar Award in 2003 and 2004 from the latter.
"The challenge is always matching the technology to current market needs. In this case Xceedium is gaining excellent customer traction with a solution that helps IT Operations deliver higher service levels at less cost in the face of escalating regulatory and compliance requirements," said Traverse. "The changing needs of IT Operations Management is putting Xceedium in a great position for success."
